About me…

My name is Erica Kanters and I live in the Netherlands. I lived in several places in the Netherlands, but also in Spain and Italy. Why did I come back you may ask? Because of failed relations and the lack of money I had to turn back home to my parents, but not for long. After a few months I found a place of my own and moved several times again. Now I have a new record… I live in the same place for nearly six years. Never thought I would ever break my record of four years, but everything seems possible.

I’m a selfmade encaustic artist. My paintings are made with my intuition, an iron and coloured beeswax. Yes, the iron is the same tool you need for ironing clothes and stuff, but don’t use the same one for both. When you already hate ironing (as I do) then you will hate ironing even more…

I also write a lot, but most of it is in Dutch so a lot of people don’t understand a word I’m writing. Don’t even think about using a translator on the world wide web, because all content wil be pulled out of shape (if you understand what I mean…) My writing can be found on my other site, www.ericakanters.nl, for those who are interested in my writing. But you can also find a lot of my encaustic art on that site and you needn’t to understand Dutch. How beautiful is that!
